Define Shorthand Aliases 

Verify the Shorthand entry profile option setting: 

      Responsibility = System Administrator   

      GUI Navigation = Profile/System 

      Query the Profile Name = Flexfields:Shorthand Entry 

      Set to 'Always' or 'New Entries Only' at the desired Level (site/user) 

        Profile "Flexfield:Open Key Window" set to Yes at USER level.  

2.   Verify that  the Shorthand alias is enabled: 

      GUI Navigation = Setup/Financials\Flexfields\Key\Aliases 

      In the Shorthand zone of the Shorthand Aliases form, check  

      the Enabled checkbox. 

      Recompile the flexfield as shown below. 

3. Recompile the Key flexfield using the Key Flexfields window: 

      GUI Navigation = Setup\Financials\Flexfields\Key\Segments 

      Query the flexfield you are recompiling. 

      Click off, then back on, the Freeze Flexfield Definition checkbox. 

      This should enable the Compile button, now compile the flexfield 

       by selecting the Compile button. 

      Each time the Shorthand (or individual shorthand values) is  

      enabled, the flexfield must be recompiled.
